Description

In the small town of Butyn, located in the heart of Russia, Alexei Navalny came into the world on June 4, 1976. From the outset, it was evident that he possessed a curious mind and an insatiable appetite for knowledge. Growing up in a modest household, Navalny’s parents instilled in him the values of honesty, integrity, and hard work.

On Friday morning, Russian prison authorities announced the death of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny. He reportedly had felt unwell after a walk in the courtyard of Penal Colony No. 3โ€”where he had been transferred a few weeks earlierโ€”and lost consciousness. Arriving rescuersโ€™ attempts to revive him were unsuccessful, and Navalnyโ€™s team confirmed his death the following day. Though the exact cause of his demise is still unknownโ€”Navalnyโ€™s allies have already said he was murderedโ€”there is no doubt the Kremlin bears full responsibility.
